Convoy’s Strategic Northernmost Location to Serve Customers in Northern BC, Northwestern Alberta and the Yukon
Surrey—July 25, 2016—Convoy Supply opened its 40th distribution warehouse located in Fort St John, British Columbia on Monday, July 4th. .Under the direction of Regional Manager, Rod Hunter, the 2.4 acre location is the first greenfield built-to-suit distribution center in Convoy’s 44 year history. It also marks Convoy’s 13th branch of operations in BC.

Convenient for servicing the construction materials industry of Northwestern Canada, the Fort St. John branch will carry inventories of Convoy’s premier lines of commercial and residential building envelope solutions such as Soprema Roofing and waterproofing systems, Carlisle SynTec single-ply systems, James Hardie and Royal siding, AL13 architectural panels, GAF and CertainTeed steep slope roofing products, Dow, Roxul, JM, Atlas and Hunter insulating materials, Westman, Westform & Vic West metal roofing systems and flashings, and wide variety of other roofing and siding accessories in a 12,000 sq. ft. warehouse and in the 2 acre yard. Another 1800 sq. ft. of showroom and offices will stock tools and safety gear and provide a functional space for the work of the inside sales staff.
Convoy Fort St. John’s inaugural team of 5, includes 2 long term Convoy employees who moved their families 1200 km from BC’s lower mainland to be part of this new adventure. Branch Manager Greg Jackson, native of Fort St. John, heads up the crew of 2 inside sales people, warehouse staffer and HIAB driver. Rod Hunter, a veteran in the building supplies industry and long-time Convoy Regional Manager for Northern and Interior BC, will continue to give the location oversight. Members of Team Convoy at Home Office and other locations have also been adding expertise as needed throughout the project. “I am really impressed with the facility” said Michael Forget, one of the branch’s two inside sales people. “Everything has been well planned out and I like Rod’s approach and vision for the future.”
Building Contractors across the Northwest of Canada will now have more timely access for their material needs delivered directly to the job site or for pick-up at the branch.
